The Regina was the first of three Parisian luxury hotels created by Leonard Tauber and Constant Baverez, who has also built the Hotel Raphael and the Majestic. Built on the former site of the Louvre Palace's royal carousel, and the hotel has not forgotten this past: its restaurant, the Pluvinel, is named for Antoine de Pluvinel, who was the King's Equerry in the 16th century.
With their cornices and moldings, the hotel's wide halls hint at the atmosphere reigning in the 120 suites and rooms. Indeed, each room is stamped with refinement: the result of a multitude of elegant details such as antique lamps and light fixtures, and decorated in warm and luminous shades of red, blue and cream.
